How to Choose the Right Size for Kids Clothing (110–170 cm Guide)

Choosing kids’ clothing online can feel harder than it should. Age labels are only a rough starting point, children grow at different rates, and the fit of a relaxed tee is not the same as the fit of a pair of shorts. A clear height measurement is often the most useful place to begin.

This kids clothing size guide explains how Damondaily sizing works for recommended heights from 110 to 170 cm, how to measure at home, and what to consider when your child sits between two sizes.

Start with height, not age

Two children of the same age may need different sizes, so we recommend using your child’s current height before looking at age-based expectations. Have them stand without shoes, with their back straight and heels close to a wall. Place a flat book horizontally on top of the head, mark the wall lightly, and measure from the floor to the mark.

Measure close to the time you plan to order. If the last number you remember is from several months ago, a quick recheck can prevent guesswork.

Damondaily height guide: 110–170 cm

Most current Damondaily styles use size labels from 120 to 170. The number on the label is not always the minimum recommended height. For example, size 120 is intended for children approximately 110–120 cm tall.

Damondaily size label Recommended child height
120 110–120 cm
130 120–130 cm
140 130–140 cm
150 140–150 cm
160 150–160 cm
170 160–170 cm

Always check the size information on the individual product page before ordering. Some styles may include additional measurements or size options, and garment shape can change how a size feels.

Take a few simple body measurements

Height is the main starting point, but a few additional measurements can help when proportions or fit preferences differ. Use a soft measuring tape and keep it level rather than pulling it tight.

  • Chest: Measure around the fullest part of the chest with arms relaxed.
  • Waist: Measure around the natural waist, usually above the hip bones.
  • Hip: Measure around the fullest part of the seat.
  • Inseam: Measure from the top of the inner leg to the preferred hem point.

Compare these numbers with any garment measurements shown on the product page. Body measurements describe the child; garment measurements describe the actual piece and normally include room for fit and movement.

What if your child is between sizes?

If your child is near the top of a height range, first think about the garment and how they like to wear it. Sizing up may make sense when you want growing room, plan to layer underneath, or prefer a roomier look. Staying with the current range may make sense when the style is already relaxed or when a neater fit is important.

Do not size up automatically by several steps. Extra length and width can affect movement, sleeve position, or waistband security. One size at a time is usually the more useful comparison.

Fit changes by garment type

Relaxed tees

A relaxed or drop-shoulder tee is intentionally easy through the body. Check the shoulder and overall length before sizing up, because the style already includes extra room. The Move Easy Lightweight Quick-Dry Tee has a relaxed unisex shape, so the height guide is the best first reference.

Shorts and bottoms

For bottoms, waist security and freedom through the hip and thigh matter most. An elastic waistband can offer flexibility, but the shorts should still stay in place while a child runs or climbs.

Unisex fits

Unisex clothing is designed around a shared silhouette rather than separate boys’ and girls’ cuts. The intended shape may be straight or relaxed, so use measurements and the product description instead of assuming the fit.

A quick size check before ordering

  • Measure your child’s height without shoes.
  • Check the recommended height range on the product page.
  • Review chest, waist, or garment measurements when available.
  • Consider whether the style is slim, regular, or relaxed.
  • Think about layers and your child’s preferred amount of room.
  • If still unsure, contact us with the child’s height and the product you are considering.

Make room for real life, not just growth

The right size should let a child sit, reach, walk, and play comfortably today. Growing room is useful, but it should not come at the expense of secure waistbands or easy movement.

Once you have the size, browse Damondaily new arrivals and compare the product-specific size notes before making a choice.
